Sponsor A Step - Support The Light

A unique opportunity to step into the future by protecting the past and help preserve, restore, and maintain the DeTour Reef Light by sponsoring a step on the spiral staircase leading to the lantern that keeps the Light on. Donors can obtain a permanent legacy on one of Michigan’s historical maritime monuments.

Step sponsor’s name, step number (beginning with the first step at the top of the staircase and are each stamped with a Roman numeral), and other desired data will be engraved on a brass plaque mounted on an oak board displayed on the wall at the entrance to the spiral staircase. Additionally, each sponsor will receive a personalized plaque and certificate commemorating the step purchase. Steps are limited, as there are only 32, and will be sponsored on a first-come, first-served basis.

If desired, you can designate the sponsorship in honor or memory of someone special or a business, or to commemorate a special occasion, or provide a lasting gift for someone special.
